Kayaking at a lake near our home…

We have a beautiful lake near our house we don’t utilize as much as we should.

The water is low due to the extensive drought we are in, have been in, and will probably continue to be in for some time, but it was deep enough for kayaking.

The lilies were so pretty.

You gotta love the ol’ hold the camera out in front of you and shoot.

Holding a Canon Rebel out over a body of water in a rocking boat makes it even more interesting.

It was a beautiful morning.

Good exercise, fresh air, and some much needed time for Randy and I to kick back a little away from the farm and do something we both really enjoy.

Headed home.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Sheep Sales….

Thank you to everyone who bought sheep off our farm this summer.  We pray you have success with them and love them as we have.

We still have Texel ewes and a few ewe lambs left for sale, but have had an exceptional time selling them off our farm.

Everyone was tired this evening after dinner.

Adopting one child won't change the world; but for that child, the world will change.

I am the wife to my wonderful husband and joint care giver to the many animals we have acquired on our small farm here on the prairie. This is a bit about our life on our farm. We are striving for simplicity and self-sufficiency, determined to become debt-free, trying to live in tune with the natural cycles of this earth, and challenging ourselves to transition to a diet based on traditional foods. It isn't always easy, and we don't always succeed, but it is a fun learning process. Join us as we stumble through learning how to provide for ourselves, get off the treadmill, and work toward a simpler way of life.
